5 Basic Tips for That “Living Room Workout” – How to get optimum results
Let’s be honest here… Some of us were used in exercise. We had specific training programs, visited the gym 3-4 times a week….Well, this quarantine has “hurt” us pretty bad and that is no lie. And that’s because, in the gym, we could share our energy and mutual goals with others, test our abilities and , of course, hang out with like-minded people. However, with the coronavirus outbreak and the quarantine, we realized that we would have to turn our own home into a gym, at least for a while . And the truth is that many of us needed more time to adapt to this new reality. With the help of our trainers , our friends, and of course , the internet, we managed to find some nice training programs and got into the process of home training. Here are some tips to get the most out of your living room workout:
Don’t hold back
If you choose to do a HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), then you should certainly NOT hold back. When you’re doing a 15-minute workout, make sure you give it all you got. Do as many reps and sets as you possibly can, with short breaks.
Preparation is everything
It’s simple. Put on your training shoes, shorts and T-shirt – or your favourite sports bra!. Don’t expect optimum results when you’re working out in you pj’s! Act like you have a session with your trainer at the gym.
Use your Mind
Your mind-muscle connection has to be really strong here. You need to concentrate on how your muscles work and feel every movement in order to get your results , especially if you’re doing a bodyweight program.
Master your posture
If you have chosen to watch a video with a fitness program (truth is…..it’s not the best solution), it would be a good idea to watch the exercises carefully at first. Do not start exercising without having a complete picture of the exercises. Press pause when you see an exercise you haven’t done before and try to perfect your posture in order to do it correctly.
Follow the schedule
You think you have the whole day ahead of you to exercise? Well, it doesn’t exactly work like that. Set a specific schedule for your workouts and stick to it! It’s the only way to take it seriously.
