Restorative yoga and its benefits

Restorative yoga and its benefits Restorative yoga is the antidote to our crazy modern lifestyle, as it promotes physical and mental relaxation. This kind of yoga is probably the most gentle for the body and if performed right, it doesn’t cause any pain. This is why it can be done by older people, pregnant women and by those recovering from an injury. The key element in recovery yoga is the use of props such as yoga blocks and some special caramel shaped pillows called “bolsters”. Of course training can be done without the props, but they help the body to move and “open” even more. Restorative yoga has a slow pace. It includes many pauses and emphasizes in holding each move for several minutes. Also, deep and proper breathing is essential during practice. This kind of yoga offers our body all the benefits of stretching that we usually neglect. It’s worth mentioning that even if this kind of yoga promotes flexibility, you don’t have to be super flexible to join. Some of the best known moves of restorative yoga are child’s pose, corpse pose/ savasana and legs up the wall. Benefits of restorative yoga
