Burnout: when you’re drained from work Whether you love your job or not, you have definitely caught yourself stressing on certain things at some point. For example, it could be the long hours at the office, the large amount of work, the low salary, the obnoxious colleagues that get on your nerves etc. If you let the prolonged stress of your work take over, you’re going to end up feeling burned out. How to realize the burnout Nothing pleases you anymore. You used to get up every morning full of energy and excited to see your co-workers and make things happen. But when you’re on the verge of a burnout, you feel like you “have” to go to work and nothing interests you. We all have days that we’d prefer to stay at home and do other things, but when that happens for weeks or even years it means that something’s wrong. You don’t care about your job You feel like a robot, without any excitement or emotion. You don’t care about productivity and efficiency. You can’t even give a 30% of your energy, when you once gave your full 100%. Your job is your life Well, you’re definitely on the verge of burnout when you can’t remember the last time you did something fun for yourself, went for a drink, had dinner out, because your work takes up the most of your daily life. You have health problems Work stress has invaded your life to the point where it affects you mentally and physically without you even realizing it. There’s a strong chance that you’ll get high blood pressure, insomnia, depression, gain weight or even cause your immune system to collapse. The rest of your life is affected Pessimism, irritation and whining for your work can affect your personal life, your relationships with your friends, your parents and your lover. HOW TO DEAL WITH IT Take care of yourself When you’re feeling down, the last thing on your mind is to eat healthy or do some exercise. But you have to do both in order to make yourself feel better mentally and physically. Take control Find what makes you anxious in your job and then look for ways to manage it. For example, if you’ve been loaded with a bunch of responsibilities that isn’t entirely your business, try to talk to your boss so that the work is distributed to more people. Go on vacation That is unless you are the manager of the company that has to be there all the time. You can get some days off, so that you can relax and unwind. And even if you stay home, the time you’ll spend with yourself or your friends is very important and valuable. Seminars Recent Articles
