Covid-19 and gyms: Not so dangerous after all!

Covid-19 and gyms: Not so dangerous after all!

Finally the gyms are open and we are ready to go hard! Or maybe… go home?  Some people are still very concerned about returning to the gym, as they think it might not be safe yet.

What does science say?

“Well, it is very difficult to know where the virus came from”, says Jonathan Ball, biologist and professor at Nottingham University. He also says that governments are closing the gyms in order to prevent large numbers of cases.

BBC study

The BBC analysis reports that 11,2% of covid-19 cases come from super-markets, 7,4% from cafes and restaurants, 6,8% from schools and 2,8% from gyms.   However, we can never be sure of where people “caught” the virus.

What happens in gyms

  • All safety measures are strictly followed.
  • The proper distances are maintained between trainers and trainees, but also between all other staff members.
  • All exercise equipment is adequately cleaned and disinfected after use, so the next person can use them safely.
  • There aren’t more people in the gym than what the law allows for.
  • All areas of the gym are aired and cleaned at all times.
  • Staff members and trainees wear protective masks.

Conclusion

Since health and safety measures are followed by everyone, it is really difficult to get infected at the gym, so don’t be afraid and start training ASAP! After all, science approves!  Become a “Health Exercise Specialist” through the seminar of Base Training Academy Seminars Recent Articles
