The drinks of longevity: What to drink to live longer! 

It’s amazing how much our diet can contribute to our health and longevity.  There are certainly many foods that add years to our lives. Let’s discover together some beverages that strengthen our bodies and benefit our health. 

Green tea 

The caffeine in tea has been linked to less chance of developing diabetes and Parkinson’s disease and apperas to benefit also the heart. However, caffeine in any form should always be consumed in moderation. It is reccomended to avoid drinking more than three cups of tea daily, because there may be negative effects such as stress, insomnia, high blood pressure, etc. Tea also contains a polyphenol that prevents the growth of cancer cells.  Green tea also contains a variety of antioxidants such as flavonoids which reduce levels of bad cholesterol and catechins, protect the body from free radicals which among other things are associated with aging and cell destruction. Last but not least, green tea promotes good bowel function as it helps the growth of good micro-organisms. 

Black tea 

Green tea may be truly miraculous, but so is black tea. In particular, it also contains antioxidants, tannins that protect the immune system, reduces stress and improves digestion. It contains caffeine, which as mentioned is good for you when consumed in moderate amounts, lowers cholesterol, and helps prevent cancer. 

Black coffee 

Pure coffee is good for you not only because of the caffeine. It also contains vitamin B5 which renews red blood cells, manganese which enhances bone growth, potassium which lowers blood pressure, magnesium which gives energy, and niacin which converts all the vitamins into useful energy. 

Red wine 

You’ve probably heard the dietary advice that urges you to consume one to two glasses of red wine a day. Experts highlight that it is good for the heart, but that’s not all. Among other things, the presence of resveratrol in red wine prevents brain degeneration and antioxidants provides protection against aging. Moreover it prevents diabetes and osteoporosis and eliminates toxins. 

Water 

It is the purest drink and it’s for free!
