To sleep or to exercise? That is the question! How to choose wisely
There is a question that has tortured many people who exercise for many years now. To sleep or to get up to exercise? Sleep and exercise are two factors that contribute to physical and mental health. Studies have shown that in order to be healthy we need to exercise according to the instructions of scientists and get enough sleep. How many times have you heard that when you are trying to lose weight it is important to get about 8 hours of sleep each night because insomnia leads to overeating, especially processed foods? It has also been shown that when we sleep well we can be more efficient when exercising. Finally, sleep boosts metabolism, the function of the heart and memory. However, the million dollar question is when should we sacrifice our sleep for exercise? The answer depends on many factors. -If you have slept 7 to 9 hours the night before then you have to get up and exercise! -If you have not slept at all or just a few hours, then forget about exercise for a day because sleep is very important. Among other things, if you have not slept well, your body does not function well, your mood is bad and you may experience symptoms of depression if insomnia continues for a long time. -If you are getting enough sleep and have only exercised once a week and your goal is to exercise three or four times then you need to get out of bed and put on your sneakers. -Finally, if you have trained most days of the week then you deserve to sleep and skip a workout. This last tip also applies to those who feel exhausted from last day’s training. Giota Florou Recent Articles
