Diet or exercise: Which is best for weight loss?

This question has “tortured” many people and health scientists and continues to “plague” them. Let’s see which is best for long term weight loss, diet or exercise? Diet is the number one factor  if you want to lose weight. Only if you reduce the calories you consume you will be able to achieve your goal. For example, if you want to “cut” 500 calories daily, it is easier to do so if you eat foods with fewer calories, fewer snacks and smaller food portions. On the contrary, it is more difficult, more time consuming and tiring to “burn” 500 calories from exercise. In general, in order to be able to reduce calories without counting them, it’s best to consume whole grain foods that have not been highly processed and are rich in fiber, protein and good fats. In terms of exercise, strength training will help you “burn” more calories overall, if you want to lose weight, because it increases your metabolism. Of course you will do aerobic exercise that also helps but to a lesser extent. In addition, exercise regulates the hormones of hunger and so you won’t snack all the time. However, you must be careful not to overdo it with exercise because it can increase instead your appetite, instead of reducing it. Are you a resistance training lover? Or maybe, a sports trainer? No matter what your educational background is,the “Weight Lifting Specialist” seminar offered by Base Training is designed for you! Ultimately, the combination of diet and exercise is more efficient and effective if you want to achieve weight loss. There is no specific approach on how to combine the two.  You should do what works best for you. For example, you may want to pay more attention to what you eat (80%) and less to exercise (20%). Or you want to reduce the calories in food by 50% and the remaining 50% you will lose by doing exercise. Giota Florou (source: www. healthline.com) Recent Articles
