Aqua Fitness: A “refreshing” workout
As usual, exercise is a way to sweat with a simple movement. Heat is our main opponent especially in seasons like summer. Is there a way to exercise without sweating and keeping cool? Of course there is, this is Aqua Fitness, a type of exercise with multiple benefits.
What is Aqua Fitness
Aqua fitness is a way of exercising in an indoor or outdoor pool in groups or individually, always under the supervision of a specialist. This type of exercise includes exercises with body weight and with fabric dumbbells which are done with movements that approach swimming but without it being always necessary. It is a form of fitness that is addressed to all people regardless of gender or age.
Aqua Fitness Benefits
- Improvement in heart function
A little training through Aqua Fitness helps to improve people’s heart health and cardiovascular strength. This is because water pressure acts as a helper in the pool which aims at better blood circulation in the body. As the heart continues to beat and push through exercise, the risk of developing heart disease is effectively reduced. Exercises in the water have been shown to help reduce high blood pressure.
- Milder way of training for some population groups
Sometimes some population groups such as people suffering from arthritis and other bone joint problems may find it difficult to exercise on the floor. On the contrary, working out in the pool is certainly easier and more effective for them as the buoyancy of the water creates the feeling that they are lighter. This makes it easier for them to exercise freely and avoid pain.
- Easy calorie loss and muscle toning
Exercising in water is a great way to burn calories and stimulate your muscles. Water is thicker than air, and therefore more durable so bodies and muscles need to work clearly harder than on the floor thus ensuring more effective workouts.
