Blood test will “check” your fitness level – At what stage is the research

Scientists in the United States have announced that they have developed the first experimental blood test that can show a person’s “shape” and fitness before and after exercise! The test, which is not yet ready for use, may in the future be complementary to other clinical tests to assess fitness and will also provide quick and detailed information on how the body reacts in exercise at a molecular level. The test, created by scientists at Stanford University School of Medicine in California, led by genetic professor Michael Snyder, who published the journal in Cell Biology, was performed on 36 people before and after exercise. Researchers have identified molecular biomarkers for various processes, such as metabolism, immunity, oxidative stress, muscle and cardiovascular function, which show how the body is affected by intense exercise. According to the Athens Agency, this is the first complete molecular image of biochemical changes in the body due to exercise that has been made possible. “Aerobic capacity is one of the best indicators of longevity, so a simple blood test that can provide this information will be a valuable tool for monitoring one’s health,” said Dr. Kevin Contrepua of his Stanford Department of Genetics. Researchers are working with artificial intelligence algorithms to improve the test and make it faster and cheaper.
