Child physical growth: How is it done?
The question often arises “how do children develop after birth?” by parents and educators. Indeed, a good question also is “what is the normal development of children?”
What is the physical growth of children?
Physical growth refers to differences in height, weight, and any other physical change in children as they mature. Hair grows, teeth grow, fall out and grow back, the child grows taller and finally the period of adolescence begins. All this is the usual development process.
What is the normal physical growth of children until adolescence?
The first year of a child’s life is a time of incredible change, with newborns growing by 25 cm in length and their weight tripling in relation to their birth. Then, after the age of one year, the physical development of the child is obviously less and by the age of 2 years the height increases steadily by 6 cm per year until adolescence. However, the development in children is not completely stable, since sometimes within a year children develop a lot, while others do not. It is true that their development takes place mainly in the spring rather than at other times of the year.
What is the normal physical development of children during and after adolescence?
In girls, at the age of 8 to 13 years, their development is great. Respectively the same happens in the age of 10 to 15 in boys. The duration of adolescence is from 2 to 5 years and is directly related to sexual development and genital development, the appearance of hair growth and in girls the onset of menstruation. In girls adolescence ends at the age of 15 years while in boys at the age of 16 and 17 years. The children are now naturally mature.
