Coconut water: A trendy drink that benefits your body
Nowadays, coconut water has flooded the shelves of health food markets and beyond. However, although healthy lifestyle fans are well aware of it, this is not the case with the rest consumers. Coconut-derived water, however, has so many beneficial properties that you can’t even imagine.
We highlight them below!
High nutritional quality
The water comes from a green coconut that has not yet matured. One medium coconut gives about one cup of water. This cup contains, among other things, 9g of carbohydrates, 3g of fibers, 2g of protein, provides 10% of the daily intake in vitamin C, 15% in magnesium, 17% in manganese, 17% in potassium, 6% in calcium and 11% in sodium.
It is antioxidant
The antioxidants contained in coconut water fight free radicals that destroy the cells.
It is moisturizing
Coconut water has a slightly sweeter taste than regular water and is a very pleasant and refreshing drink, especially in summer. Be careful, though, when getting it from the stores to look carefully at the label. It has to be 100% coconut water with no added sugar.
It is good for the skin
Coconut water hydrates the skin and makes it look healthier and glowing.
Reduces pressure
A study conducted with participants who had high blood pressure, found that drinking coconut water lowered the blood pressure in 71% of the participants.
It is ideal after exercise
Coconut water is a good after-workout drink. It provides the proper hydration and electrolytes someone needs after a demanding workout.
So, what are you waiting for? Grab your coconut water and enjoy your summer!
