Cycling: Tips for the summer period!
Cycling is loved by many people, either as their hobby or as a profession. For other, it’s a whole lifestyle. Since summer is already upon us, cycling comes with many challenges including dehydration, excess fatigue or other heat-relates issues. Here are some tips to help you keep cool when temperature rises.
What to watch out for during the summer
- Choose the right outfit: The best choice for the hot summer days is synthetic fabrics that are specially designed to absorb sweat.
- Do facial care: Cyclists could be exposed to the sunlight for long periods, so they will need to use lots of sunscreen, not just on their face but to all the exposed parts of their body.
- Use better – quality sunglasses: Ultraviolent sun rays can damage sensitive eye cells, and can therefore lead to several eye problems. So, the sunglasses should have 100% UV filtering lenses.
- Wear gloves: Cyclists should wear protective gloves that will prevent their grip from slipping due to sweating, protect their hands in case of falling and prevent nerve damage.
- Keep your head cool: There are some new technology helmets with cooling airways as the person is cycling. That way your head is fully protected from the summer heat.
- Hydrate: There is absolutely no need to explain this one. Water, water, and….water!
Stay safe and keep on cycling!
