Do you have high blood pressure?12 ways to lower it naturally

Blood pressure is the pressure exerted by the blood on the walls of the arteries as it flows through them. Blood pressure depends on the flow of blood (how much blood our heart sends in each contraction) and the resistance of our blood vessels to that flow. If our blood pressure is high, then our heart needs to work harder to maintain adequate blood flow to our body. The heart beats more than 100,000 times a day. Each time it beats, it expels a quantity of blood to the arteries. This amount of blood increases the pressure inside the arteries. Between two beats the heart rests and fills with blood. Thus blood pressure is expressed by two numbers. The first number, for example 12 or more correctly 120 is the pressure exerted by the blood on the walls of the arteries as it leaves the heart and is called systolic  while the second number, for example 8 or more properly 80 is the pressure exerted by the blood on the walls of the arteries when the heart is at rest and is called diastolic blood pressure. The ideal blood pressure in healthy adults is below 120 for systolic and below 80 for diastolic. Any blood pressure value above 140 for systolic and above 90 for diastolic is considered hypertension. The good thing about having high blood pressure is that you can lower it naturally before you take medication Here are some ways to do it: -Do aerobic and strength training. Your heart will be stronger and will “work” less to do what it has to do -Reduce your body weight if you are overweight -Reduce the consumption of products with sugar and processed carbohydrates -Reduce salt and increase foods that contain potassium such as fish, milk, yogurt, oranges, bananas, avocados, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, spinach -Stop smoking -Reduce stress -Get enough sleep -Eat some garlic or take garlic supplements -Eat foods rich in protein -Reduce alcohol -Reduce caffeine -If you make the above changes and notice that your blood pressure continues to remain high then see a doctor because you probably need medication.
