Dysania: When you can’t get out of bed
Do you struggle to get out of bed every morning when the alarm goes off? Do you wake up on the weekends but feel so bad that it takes you more than an hour to get out of bed? Then, your condition is probably much more serious than just fatigue or drowsiness. Maybe you have something called “dysania”. So far, dysania has not been recognized as a condition but it is used as a term by doctors. Other diseases may be hidden behind it.
The causes
Depression: Depression can cause excessive fatigue. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: Patients experience extreme episodes of fatigue that last for a long time and don’t go away when they rest. Anemia: It is a condition that also causes fatigue. Thyroid Disorders: If the thyroid gland is not functioning properly, you may feel tired. Heart problems: They can cause a lot of fatigue. Sleep Disorders: Insomnia and narcolepsy can make it difficult to wake up in the morning. On the other hand, sleep apnea can lead to energy loss.
Treatment
Dysania is treated almost like any other sleep disorder. That’s why you need to follow a night time routine. It would be good to avoid caffeine before going to bed and turn off electrical devices. Also, follow a regular sleep schedule to adjust your internal clock and avoid sleeping during the day. Finally, exercise but not too close to bedtime and create the conditions in your room (less light and noise) so you can sleep better. Source: iatropedia.gr Recent Articles
