Playing in the sand and losing calories: Do’s and don’ts!

Summer is finally here, and so is our good mood! We are all ready to go on vacation, relax and of course workout, not only at the gym but also at the beach!  All fitness enthousiasts are looking for ways to stay fit even when they go at the beach, so that they can keep working on their dream body. So, let’s forget about the gym for a while and find out some other fun ways to train.

Games in the sand

Racketball  It takes place in all beaches everywhere in the world. As exciting as it might be for those who play, sometimes it can be very annoying for those who sit in a close distance…   Beach volley  Did you know that beach volley is more demanding than indoor volley? We suggest you call your friends up, tell them to bring their swimsuit and their sunglasses and get ready to meet new opponents at the beach. Time to create special moments together.

Be passionate about it

You should be passionate about defending yourself at the game or passing the ball to your teammate. You will have lots of fun and accomplish your goal at the same time, that is to burn more calories!

Play different, play functional

In addition to racketball and beach volley, you can challenge yourself and your friends with some functional training exercises. You can include burpees, jumping jacks, mountain climbers and squats. You can also use the ball to spice things up a bit!  Swimming, of course, is an integral part of working out at the beach.

Do’s and dont’s

  • Hydrate sufficiently
  • Eat lots of fruit, as they help with hydration and have few calories
  • Eat salty food, but try not to exaggerate
  • Eat full meals
  • Always remember to apply sunscreen, wear your sunglasses and a hat
  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine
  • Wear non synthetic clothes, so that your skin can breathe

And, last but not least, put on your good mood and you’re ready to go.

Have a great time!
