The Worst Foods for the Brain: Part A.

Our diet does not only play a significant role in our physical condition and in the prevention of various types of chronic diseases. It also has to do with the harm they do to our brains.

What foods are not good for our brain?

There are many foods that have a negative impact on the function of our brain. These are the following:

  • Sugary and carbonated drinks

Drinks that are full of sugar are sports / energy drinks, soft drinks, soda and juices. This is because their main ingredient is fructose syrup which consists of fructose and glucose. By swallowing them there is a very negative effect on the brain.  High levels of fructose and sugar in the blood have been shown to increase the risk of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, decreased brain function, memory and the formation of brain neurons. Memory disorders are the most common consequence of swallowing such drinks.

  • Processed carbohydrates

Processed carbohydrates contain sugars and processed hydrocarbons such as e.g. flour. At the same time, foods with high levels of fat and sugar also have less memory as they affect parts of the brain that affect aspects of memory.  Finally, it has been shown that a high daily carbohydrate intake has almost doubled the risk of mild mental dysfunction and dementia and finally a low score on verbal intelligence.  The continuation in the next article.  Become a nutritionist – only through the Base Training lab   Katerina Zouganeli    Source  Mandl E.
